The Meghalaya Postal Division is seeking qualified individuals to recruit approximately 60 (Sixty) eligible and willing candidates for the positions of Field Officer and Direct Agent. These roles involve the promotion of Postal Life Insurance and Rural Postal Life Insurance services within the State of Meghalaya. Preference will be given to local candidates.

Age limit: Minimum 18 years

Eligibility Criteria: Any candidate who has passed 10th Standard or equivalent Exam from a Recognized Board of Central/State Government, and eligible for engagement by the Governrnent. Any Unemployed/Self-employed youth, Ex life advisors/Ex-Agents or any insurance company, Ex Servicemen, Anganwadi workers, Mahila Mandal Workers, Retired School Teachers, SHGs, Gram Pradhan, Members of Gram Panchayat with 10th Standard or equivalent qualification can attend the ‘walk-in-interview” along-with the application form and required certificates.

How to Apply for Meghalaya Post Office Recruitment 2025 for Field Officer & Direct Agent Vacancy

The willing and eligible person will attend “Walk-In-interview” before the interview board along-with the application form and required certificates. The interview will include questions on knowledge of life insurance Industry in India, knowledge of PLI/RPLI products. Short-listing and selection of candidates will be purely on tie basis of their performance in the “Walk-in-interview”‘.

Venue: Senior Superintendent of Post Offices, Shillong GPO, Shillong-793001

Date: 10th June 2025 (Tuesday) from 10:00 AM

The selected Field Officer/Direct Agent will be required to furnish cash security of Rs.5000/- in the form of National Savings Certificate (NSC)/ Kisan Vikas Petra (KVP), which will be released on termination of the engagement. 

The selected and dates have to undergo 03 (Three) days in-house training on PU/RPLI products & 03(Three) days practical training.

Payment of Commission:

Procurement/ renewal commission for the PLI/RPLI business procured by the Field Officer and the Direct Agent will be sanctioned at the rate prescribed by the Department of Posts from time to time by the competent authority; and no procurement/renewal incentive on the policies procured earlier will be payable after the termination of license. The current rate of procurement incentive (new business) for PLI ranges from 4% to 20% of the first year premium income, depending upon the Plan and Term; and, renewal incentive is 1% of renewal premium. The current rate of procurement incentive (new business) for RPLI is 10% of the procurement premium; and, the renewal incentive is 2.5% of renewal premium
