About IIPH-Shillong
Established in 2015 by the Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) in collaboration with the Government of Meghalaya, IIPH-Shillong is an autonomous educational and research institute under the IIPH Shillong Society, registered under the Meghalaya Society Registration Act, 1983.
The institute aims to strengthen institutional and systems capacity in public health across the North East Region of India.
Eligibility Criteria
Essential Qualification
Candidates must have:
- Master’s degree in:
- Public Health
- Biostatistics
- Statistics
- Data Science
- Health Informatics
- Epidemiology
- Demography
- Computer Applications
- Or related field
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in:
- Data Management
- Database Administration
- Public Health Informatics
- Monitoring & Evaluation
- Proven experience handling large datasets and structured databases.
Desirable Qualification
Preference will be given to candidates with:
- Experience working with government health data systems such as:
- HMIS
- DHIS2
- RCH Portal
- NCD Portal
- LMIS
- Experience in multi-project data coordination
- Experience in academic/research institutions
- Certification in database management or analytics tools
Roles & Responsibilities
The Data Manager will:
- Manage, clean, analyze and visualize health data
- Generate actionable insights from government health platforms
- Identify data-quality gaps
- Support baseline and endline assessments
- Prepare analytical reports for planning and review meetings
- Support development of training modules for district & block health officials
Key Responsibilities

- Design and maintain structured databases
- Develop SOPs and documentation systems
- Ensure secure storage and confidentiality

- Conduct audits and validation checks
- Monitor data completeness and consistency
- Develop dashboards and tracking tools
3️⃣ Database & Systems Coordination
- Streamline data collection workflows
- Integrate data from multiple platforms
- Maintain metadata and data dictionaries
4️⃣ Reporting & Documentation
- Generate periodic reports
- Prepare analytical datasets for research
- Develop structured reporting templates
5️⃣ Capacity Support
- Train staff on data entry and quality standards
- Provide technical guidance to field teams
6️⃣ Coordination
- Work with project leads and research teams
- Liaise with state/district officials
- Participate in review meetings
